Heisei Sumi-e Godzilla by Kyle from the Kaijucast (that’s me) for GODZILLA NIGHT II

“What’s Godzilla Night??”, you ask…

Glad you asked, friend! This Saturday (June 22nd) at the historic BAL Theater in San Leandro, the Bay Area Film Events crew will be hosting Godzilla Night II with screenings of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) and Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992), but there’s a whole lot more than movies. Robert Scott Field (who played Android M-11 in 1991) and Matt Frank (the artist currently drawing the new Godzilla: Rulers of Earth comic book series) will be Skyping in, the writer of Godzilla: Rulers of Earth will be on hand with some stuff from the new series, Mark Jaramillo will show the audience footage from an old Japanese fan film called Legendary Giant Beast Wolfman vs. Godzilla, Big Pimp Jones will be performing tracks from their Kodoja release along with some other goodies and there will be vendors selling Godzilla stuff in the lobby. PLUS, if you buy your tickets online or at the theater ahead of time, you get a really kick ass print from Shinji Nishikawa!

Right now (March 24, 2013 at 6:55pm) and at least for the rest of the night I will be streaming TONS of music and audio from Godzilla, Gamera, Mothra and many other tokusatsu productions through the same service that I use for the annual live broadcasts. Plus there are some other treats in the playlist from the Monster Project, Big Pimp Jones’ Kodoja and Project Kyojo, the Godzilla Fantasia symphonies and some of the craziest kaiju tunes in my collection.
